Technician and Programmer

Custom audio/visual, automation, lighting and security installation company is seeking a Technician and Programmer to join our growing team of professionals. We are seeking a career-oriented technician with a great attitude, excellent technical skills and the desire to learn and grow with our team. Our technicians are proficient with all aspects of audio/visual design and installation, home theaters, security systems and equipment, lighting controls, smart home technology, automated shades and low voltage system configuration and control.

 Our technicians turn design ideas into reality, take pride in their craft and accept accountability for successful outcomes. They are comfortable reading and following construction plans, installing data wiring and installing and configuring control systems, in attics, crawlspaces and other nonconventional work areas.

 The qualified candidate must possess the following:

 3-5+ years of experience as a high-end residential/commercial Technician and Programmer

  • Ability to read and understand construction plans for residential and commercial A/V and integration projects
  • Low voltage wiring and cable termination (Cat5/6/7 — 16/4 — RG6)
  • Home theater installation experience 
  • Savant and Lutron programming experience highly desirable
  • RTI and URC Remote Control programming experience
  • Computer and networking knowledge
  • Distributed audio and video system installation
  • Organized and able to multi-task
  • Motivated to succeed and professional attitude
  • Ability to work unsupervised, with a self-starter attitude
  • Trained eye for detail and pride in quality installation
  • Excellent de-bugging skills and the ability to logically troubleshoot installations
  • Understanding of work remaining vs. time remaining; able to proactively finish projects within budget and time allowed.
  • Ability to build and populate equipment racks, link equipment sources, amps, receivers and basic control
  • Ability to work and communicate with clients and other team members
  • Must have a valid Illinois driver's license with a clean record
