Job Description

The AV Field Application Engineer will be responsible for capturing customer requirements, working with the Product Manager to translate them into design direction as well as managing installation projects at customer location.

Main responsibilities are:  on-site visits, liaising between customer and Peerless-AV Product Management team, directing installers, troubleshooting, and applying lessons learned to continuous improve future LED mounts and kiosk designs.



  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience)


  • 5+ years’ experience in managing site surveys and installations. A thorough, demonstrable understanding of structural design. 

Required Skills:  

  • Ability to analyze customer situations, make decisions and solve problems under pressure. Solid knowledge and understanding of structure and structural strengths.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to interact with all levels within the organization and with external customers.  Must be detail oriented, work without supervision and must be flexible with travel based on customer requirements and schedules.
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks and MS Office: able to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, proficiently without training.
  • Must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 50 pounds. Comfortable with step ladders up to 12’ and extension ladders to 26’. Occasional use of a man-lift up to 40’.

Preferred Skills:  

  • A demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques. 



  • Travel to customer application sites for site surveys. Study and analyze customer structural, technical and cost requirements and translate into PDR requirements.
  • Work with the customer to project manage installation requirements prior to the scheduled installation to assure all aspects of the project are covered and all resources available.
  • Lead project installations and provide technical direction, installation, testing, evaluation and operation of products and systems. Assure that the project installation is completed within the budgeted time and cost. 
  • Propose project/product direction and designs during site visits based on customer requirements and customers end goal.
  • Provide input on resources requirements based on project needs and complexity.
  • Work with Product Manager to successfully take the project from site surveys to installation assuring that customer requirements are met based on Peerless-AV quality standards.
  • Conduct Post Installation feedback with all parties involved internally to facilitate improvements to the product design and installation process.
  • Participate in conference calls to help troubleshoot problems.  Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
  • Travel 50% - 75%.
  • Perform other duties as required.
