Systems Design Engineer - AV Sales

The position of Systems Design Engineer will involve selling and overseeing production system installations including audio and video.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Meet with clients onsite to design projects and systems
  • Work with Engineering and Estimation department on bidding and estimating projects
  • Track and follow up on Systems leads
  • Assist Systems Operations Manager and Pro Shop Manager with coordination of client needs
  • Participate in a monthly sales meeting
  • Work with CAD Designer to produce documents for systems designs, infrastructure drawings, line drawings, and as-builts
  • Work with Operations Manager, Purchasing, and Warehouse Manager on project details such as project timeline, scheduling of labor, and procurement of necessary equipment
  • Responsible for generating comprehensive project descriptions and detailed scope of work
  • If necessary, work with Project/Operations Manager to provide onsite direction to installation crews
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Stay updated on new technologies that our manufacturers offer
  • Travel to site surveys and have a thorough understanding of the information that must be collected to provide Engineering and Estimation with an accurate representation of desired scope and existing infrastructure
  • Provide the best customer support both before and after an installation
  • If able and if necessary, program, configure and train systems onsite as needed
  • Participate in trade shows, meetings, and other marketing events.
  • Submit marketing request form and help facilitate the capture of project photos, provide information for press releases, and any other project related marketing needs.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Experience with integrating professional live-performance based AV systems
  • Construction experience
  • In-depth knowledge of either AV or Lighting systems.
  • Ability to read and understand construction style documentation i.e. AutoCAD, Sound Vision, Ease Models, etc.


  • Experience with reviewing bid documents
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized


Physical Working Conditions


  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Work at heights on ladders, lifts, and stage grids
