Summary:  Works under the supervision of the Owner as it relates to supporting company goals in day-to-day operations as a field representative.  Duties may include installation, testing, maintenance, programming and troubleshooting of CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Alarm Detection Systems, network infrastructure, and various camera systems.

Job Duties and Functions:

 

Serves existing D E A accounts by analyzing work orders, understanding how to trouble-shoot the problem(s), investigating additional complaints and resolving problems.

 

Serves new accounts by analyzing job specifications and customer requests, providing additional security recommendations, installing the system correctly, leaving the home or business clean and completing the job on the first trip.

 

Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting increased security measures and possibly recommending system improvements.

 

Keeps adequate stock of materials on truck.

 

Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records either by paper or electronically.

 

Maintains customer confidence by keeping all company information and policies confidential.

 

Maintains company efficiency by following company procedures.

 

Accomplishes operational and organizational missions by completing related tasks as needed.

 

  • Install, repair, test, maintain and troubleshooting of Security projects as assigned;
  • Provide field customer service and represent D E A Security Systems Co., Inc. in a professional manner;
  • Must be able to train customers on the usage of all applicable products used in installation and/or upgrades;
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations as applicable to service, installation, maintenance of systems and OSHA safety standards;
  • Understand all phases of construction;
  • Read and comprehend blueprints, project instructions and company forms;
  • Must be able to install conduit, coring, or trenching as necessary;
  • Installing/Pulling cable and wire
  • Mounting panels, field devices, computers, power supplies
  • Programming, set-up, testing systems
  • Testing and inspections
  • Must be available to travel as necessary;
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
  • Basic knowledge electronic theory, and electrical wiring.
  • Demonstrated ability to read maps and travel independently required.
  • Demonstrated ability to program, install, troubleshoot, and explain residential and commercial   security systems required.
  • Basic knowledge of NEC and building codes and standards.

 Qualifications:

 

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

 

Education/Experience

 

Preferred Bachelor's degree or electrical technical training and 3-5 years of hands on experience in the security industry with CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.  Preferred excellent knowledge in network and systems integration.  Preferred familiarity with GE, Honeywell, ELK, DSC Systems as well as other major IP and HD camera systems.

 

 Language Skills

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.  Written and spoken English language skills required.

 

Computer Skills

 

Proficient IT skills preferred, with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Adobe.

 

Other Requirements

 

Preferred candidates with NICET certifications.  May be required to obtain Top Secret clearance level.  Must have a current state driver's license and proof of minimum liability insurance.
