Pro Audio Sales Engineer




Stampede is a leading distributor of integrated custom designed AVIT technology solutions that help resellers and integrators meet the growing and expanding technology needs of customers in a wide range of vertical markets that includes corporate, education, emergency responders, government, hospitality, house of worship, law enforcement and security among others.

We are seeking a driven individual to join our U.S. team as an experienced Pro Audio Sales Engineer in the Chicago, Illinois metro area. The ideal Sales Engineer candidate will have at least 5+ years Pro AV design and sales experience with audio solutions.  The Sales Engineer will participate in projects at all stages and will work within a supportive team environment to accomplish project and professional goals

This newly created position will help drive the growth of a new category at a leading IT & AV National Solutions Provider.  They will also be self-motivated, reliable, and a career-minded professional. 


  • 5+ years of verifiable experience successfully designing/engineering all types of AV applications with emphasis on a solution-based approach.
  • Advanced understanding of audio signal flow and system control, best practices and fundamentals, low-voltage wiring, as well as basic understanding of programming languages related to digital signal processors (DSP) and network-based AV systems.
  • Certified Technology Specialist Design (CTS-D) preferred
  • Intermediate level of understanding of IT and computer networking fundamentals, infrastructure and installation practices.
  • Proficiency with reading, interpreting, reviewing, and writing contract documentation and infrastructure specifications.
  • Work well within a team environment and under strict deadlines
  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings/floorplans
  • Ability to communicate and engage with partners over the phone and face to face.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent customer facing skills

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Achieving the targeted amount of gross profit on a monthly basis. 
  • Organizing lists of prospective contacts within the approved target account
  • Pursuing these prospects in an effort to add them to the client base
  • Contacting prospects via phone, logging calls in designated contact management program, and fulfilling organization’s daily activity standards of 50-60 outbound phone calls daily.
  • Close 8 new targets a month.
  • Contacting your customer base with a personal email that meets minimum weekly standards
  • Ensuring the accurate gathering of all account information in designated contact management program
  • Identifying, fulfilling customer needs and preparing quotes for customer acceptance
  • Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all sales orders and delivery
  • Handling all incoming customer calls
  • Handling customer requests for return authorizations and credits based on SPP policy
  • Handling customer complaints – developing solutions consistent with SPP philosophy
  • Maintaining awareness of inventory levels
  • Retaining and updating product knowledge
  • Maintaining desired margin levels
  • Manage personal schedule appropriately to achieve new account and existing business targets as set by management
  • Providing proper level of motivation and enthusiasm for optimum performance

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 4 Year Bachelor’ s Degree Required or 5+ years’ work experience
  • Willing to travel regionally as needed up to 20%
