Motorized Shade Installer


This position is responsible for executing field production activities, including the assembly and installation of the Company’s products.  In addition, ensuring the timely installation, repair and warranty activities of the Company’s products and their completion in accordance with established quality standards and procedures is required.  The Installer is required to work with his/her team to ensure effective completion of installation functions while minimizing the Company’s operating costs.  Works to maximize the team’s effectiveness.   Cooperates with the team to maintain a safe working environment.  Completes the team’s job-related documentation as required.






  1. Assumes responsibility for the implementation of effective installation planning, policies, and procedures for the installation team.


a.             Assists the Lead Installer and Field Operations Manager in developing short and long term goals and objectives.  Provides suggestions and recommendations.


b.             Participates in developing team installation policies and procedures and ensures that his/her team supports and complements the Company’s strategic objectives.


2.             Assumes responsibility for his/her team’s efficient, timely, and accurate completion of installation functions.


  1. Assists with tasks to accomplish the team’s installation, service and warranty processes.


  1. Assists with tasks to assure the assembly, inspection, and shipment of all materials to the team’s project sites.


  1. Ensures  installation quality, including inspection and testing of all installations.


  1. Aids in the identification of the team’s problems and helps to resolve them quickly and effectively.


  1. Assists with tasks to complete the team’s installation device programming.


  1. With the Lead Installer, manages the Company’s inventory to minimize capital outlays.


g.             Assists the Lead Installer with the allocation and distribution of the team’s production materials.


  1. Aids the Lead Installer in ensuring that the team’s inventory transactions are correctly reported to the Field Operations Manager.


  1. Ensures that the team’s installation functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards.


  1. Effectively supervises team’s personnel, ensuring optimal performance.


  1. Aids the Lead Installer in approving the team’s project paperwork in a timely and efficient manner (material receipts, tool requirements, etc.).


  1. Provides assistance and support as needed.


  1. Provides suggestions to improve the team’s performance and productivity.


  1. Communicates proficiently, both oral and written in a professional, courteous manner.


4.             Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.


  1. Works closely with the Lead Installer to maintain the team’s schedules and implement changes and revisions in operational procedures.


  1. Provides assistance and support to related departments as required.


c.             Keeps the Lead Installer informed of all activities and of any significant problems.


5.             Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned by the Field Operations Manager.


a.             Stays informed of developments and changes in production techniques and methods.  To include training through seminars, new product introductions and vendor sponsored events as required.


b.             Performs production duties as needed.


  1. Completes special projects as assigned.






  1. Team installation, service and warranty functions are completed in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and quality standards.


  1. Good communication and effective working relations exist with the Lead Installer.


  1. Suggestions for improved productivity are provided on a continuous basis.


  1. Team’s documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.


  1. The Installer is effective and efficient.  Support to the Lead Installer is provided as needed.


  1. The Lead Installer is appropriately informed of all project activities and significant problems.


  1. The Company’s professional reputation is projected during all customer or vendor contacts.


  1. The Company’s workspaces (office, warehouse, vans) are kept clean and sanitary.


  1. Proper precautions are taken on installation sites to maintain cleanliness, quality & safety (boots, tarps, gloves etc.)






Education/Certification:        High school graduate or equivalent.


                                                                Valid Driver’s License is required.


                                                                Additional related training preferred.


required knowledge:              Strong understanding of installation functions, procedures, and standards.


                                                                Knowledge of quality control standards and systems.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:           Previous installation experience preferred.


skills/abilities:                             Well organized with above average planning and management skills.


                                                                Attention to detail with a Quality orientation and interacts well with others.


                                                                Able to organize multiple projects.


                                                                Strong problem solving abilities.


                                                                Able to use all related production equipment and applications.


                                                                Knowledge of power tools, hand tools etc.


                                                                Ability to read a measuring tape or other measuring devices.
