Design Engineer


The A/V Sales Engineer will provide structural and MEP coordination including conduit and electrical requirements, interfacing with clients and job sites to document customer requirements and job site conditions.


Review pre-construction design and documentation, providing assistance with technical design, take-offs, and pricing for proposals as needed. Work directly with clients, architects, consultants and staff throughout the design development and delivery process with the support of the Supervisor.


Provide conceptual designs for audio visual and lighting solutions. Develop statement of work for each job based on system design and customer requirements. Responsible for job documentation as needed. Conduct equipment research on new and existing technology for client applications.


Site surveys as needed, create job cost estimates for bids if required and continue to review and approve Systems Descriptions. Provide technical response to the customer RFP/RF/RFI.


Qualifications and Skills for the A/V Sales Engineer


  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical subject or equivalent and related work experience.
  • InfoComm, Plasa certification desirable, CTS-D, CTS-I, ETCP-CRT, ETCP-CRA, and/or ETCP-CEE certifications are highly desirable.
  • Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Harman, Cisco) are a plus.


  • Proficiency in the use of diagrammatic software tools (such as AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, etc.)
  • Ability to think and work independently, meeting deadlines as necessary
  • Provide engineer support during the installation phase
  • Strong working knowledge of Signal flow and control systems
  • Proficiency with test and calibration equipment
  • Ability to test integrated system and train client on use; develop and write customer operation manuals as needed
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have no adverse driving history
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
