A/V Field Technician


A/V Field Technician


General Role:


Contribute to smooth operational implementation of projects by fulfilling the following requirements:


Primary Scope:


Rough Phase –


Identify and implement infrastructure wiring based on design and engineering team documentation.


Trim Phase –


Install all user interface devices and audio/visual equipment housed in walls/ceilings.


Finish Phase –


Assemble equipment racks based on design and engineering team documentation.


Load proprietary software, firmware, programming into user interface equipment and confirm equipment function matches project scope.


Ensure all equipment is clearly labeled for ease of troubleshooting and future service.


Install and interconnect wiring between all equipment and devices.


Conduct wireless site surveys and optimize communication amongst various networks factoring existing ones in close proximity.


Thoroughly test all equipment once installed.


Work closely with programmer based on generated equipment punch lists to debug and fine tune control systems.


Qualifications and Skills


An independent role under the supervision of the project leads.


Candidates must have:


2+ years Residential A/V installation experience.


Strong personal drive and desire to excel.


Ability to collaborate with other members of the team.


Willingness to take direction and execute tasks.


Demonstrate a high level of responsibility, dependability, communication, decision making, problem solving, team work and work ethic.


Being detail oriented, or having the ability to focus intently while working.


Must be able to work well within a family business type of environment.


Clean/Active California Driver’s License.


Reliable transportation and willingness to drive personal and/or company vehicle to/from projects and vendors.


Lift/maneuver up to 75lbs and physical ability to frequently bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.


Proper use of hand/power tools, and ladders and subsequent safety equipment.


Knowledge of signal flow for: audio, video, control systems, lighting, shading, networking, access control, phone systems, and camera surveillance systems.


Installation/testing/troubleshooting of: audio, video, control systems, lighting, shading, networking, access control, camera surveillance systems, phone systems, and dedicated theaters.


Advanced computer skills and knowledge of proprietary office software packages(Savant, Lutron, RTI, Control4) a plus.


Ability to effectively communicate with owners, customers, agents, superintendents, architects, designers, sub-contractors, and their affiliates.


Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.


Pass a background check and drug screen as required.


Advanced computer networking configuration/troubleshooting skills.


Job Type – Full-time


Salary - $23-28/hr based on experience


Experience – Residential Audio Visual: 2 years (Required)


Education – High School or Equivalent (Required)


Language – English (Required)
